Live life the way God intended you to
The Bible speaks of living an accountable and transparent life over and over. Living an isolated life hurts ourself, the people we love, and most of all, the heart of God. I have put together a couple different strategies and ways to keep yourself accountable and transparent no matter where you are.
James 5:16 – “Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.”
1 John 1:7 – “…but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.”
Proverbs 28:13 – “He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper, But he who confesses and forsakes them will find compassion.”
Tech Accountability
Life 360 App (Android / iOS) – Download this app on your whole family’s phones. This allows everyone in a specific group to all see each other’s REAL TIME location at any time of day. It also could send notifications automatically when certain people arrive/leave certain places.
Covenant Eyes (LINK) – This tool automatically sends ALL web traffic to any person(s) to ensure nothing is hidden in your web searches or internet browsing. This creates a transparent environment for all potential temptations.
Home WIFI Internet Blocker (LINK) – Where as Covenant Eyes sends everything without blocks, this attempts to block anything before it even gets to your device. This is a tool setup on your home wireless router. Once setup, this will filter 95% of the junk on the internet, not just on a single device, but on any device that is connected to your home wireless network.
Cell Phone Internet Blocking – Not the same as above, when you are not at home, your phone works on your Cell carrier’s signal, so you lose your home WIFI filters. Call your Cell provider and ask them about their own Smartphone web blocking features.
Smart Phone App Restrictions (Android / iOS) This process will block any app you like for a child or yourself. Family Link for Android is extremely useful for complete control over children’s devices. This allows a parent to block or allow sites, block or allow specific apps, provide suitable usage times for apps, total use, or start or cutoff times. The iPhone blocks are similar on device.

Why Accountability? (LINK) – What makes accountability effective?
Dude Chat – Assemble an group of Battle buddies, no more than 4 total men. Must be the closest of trusted friends. Meet with these men every few weeks and be real with them about your sins. Any masks worn here will only be fooling yourself. Transparency is key, if you can’t be real with these men, who will you be real to?

Mind Accountability
Stop the Devil where he starts, in your mind. DO NOT LET YOUR MIND WANDER! People don’t fall into adultery or deep pornography additions from one day to the next. It’s a slow methodical process that ends in more pain than you can ever imagine. It all starts with those so called ‘innocent’ thoughts about other women, the ‘no big deal’ lunch meetings with your female co-worker, or those ‘occasional’ clicks on those websites that are ‘completely legal’. Remember, when it comes to morality, Jesus took a step further than anybody up to that point (Matt 5:27-30).
If you use the US Law as a moral gauge, adultery and pornography are acceptable.
If you use the Pharisees or general ‘Good people’ moral gauge, adultery is condemned in physical contact, but actions in the mind are acceptable, and pornography is acceptable.
If you use Jesus’ moral gauge, just the act of dwelling your thoughts on lustful intentions for someone who isn’t your wife is not acceptable, which also addresses pornography in this. Thankfully Jesus also gives a solution for this impossible task in the Cross.
2 Corinthians 10:3-6 For though we live in the body, we do not wage war in an unspiritual way, since the weapons of our warfare are not worldly, but are powerful through God for the demolition of strongholds. We demolish arguments and every high-minded thing that is raised up against the knowledge of God, taking every thought captive to obey Christ. And we are ready to punish any disobedience, once your obedience has been confirmed.
